Security Council Continues on Debating Yemen’s Situation

According to information presented today to the Security Council, as of January 2017, the civilian death toll in Yemen has reached 10,000, along with other 40,000 injured in just under two years of war.

As the council continued to debate the situation in Yemen, a crisis occurred when multiple boats transporting food and illicit guns were discovered off the coast. It is reported that the boats were from Eritrea causing friction between Iran, Russia, Yemen, and United Kingdom.

“The delegation of Yemen isn’t surprised by the acts done by Iran knowing that they support the Houthi rebels illegally,” the delegate from Yemen said.

Delegation of France proposes to conclude the crisis and start finding solutions to bring peace. The delegation of United States supports this idea but is not willing to apologize for civilians killed Yemen to protect the United States.

“Delegates, we all as a nation have responsibility with our national security we have the duty to protect. However it is a fact that the United States national security was put in danger by gathering their information and exposing it to the whole world,” the delegate from United States of America, said.

In the middle of the morning, the Security Council emerged a second crisis when a bombing killed more than 125 civilians and 11 rebels in the disputed city of Al-Bayda.

“Even though this was a bad communication problem and bad strategy against terrorism, this  delegation further more precedes that there strategy is changed so that no more sunnis are killed,” the delegate from Yemen said.

The war in Yemen is a “proxy war” between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The United States is as well involved because of trafficking millions of weapons to give support to Saudi Arabia.

“This delegation wants to remind the whole committee of the security council that each government need to put its nation first. For example for the government of Saudi Arabia its first its people and then its allies,” the delegate from Saudi Arabia, said.

The Security Council passed a resolution that will implement a blockade around the Bab Al Mandeb due to the importance of this geographic landmark for the crisis and to stop piracy.

“Yemen and the United Arab Emirates will apply a blockade solely to ira, due to its unethical activity in regards to the country of Yemen, the funding of Houthi rebels, and confirmed espionage of the United States of America,” the delegate from United Arab Emirates, said.
