Barroco Restaurant Review

Barroco Restaurant Review

Barroco, located in Rionegro, is a restaurant that transports you back in time to the Baroque era. With its elaborate decor and honor to the period’s art, this restaurant promises a unique experience that combines history with gastronomy.

This outstanding restaurant offers a perfect combination of exquisite cuisine, impeccable service, and a captivating ambiance inspired by the Baroque era.

Barroco is meticulously designed and separated into different sections. The fountain area, art gallery, and different salons with impressive artworks show elegance, while the garden and lantern-lit sections change the scenery to a romantic and peaceful atmosphere. The diverse ambiance ensures that clients find the perfect spot to suit their moods and preferences, either for a special occasion or for something more casual.

“We’re dedicated to crafting an atmosphere that not only ensures our clients feel secure and welcomed but also leaves them amazed. Our staff is known for their charisma, ensuring clients feel comfortable and genuinely cared for through attentive and friendly service,” Kayla, a waitress at Barroco, said.

Barraco’s menu is a culinary delight, featuring dishes inspired by European cuisine, especially Italian and French, as the Baroque period was very impactful in Europe. Some of the customer favorites are “Juana Primera de Castilla (La Loca)”:  tres leches cake, chocolate crumble, fruit, cream, and vanilla ice cream. Then the starter is “Pulpo mediterráneo”: grilled octopus with potatoes, tomato, and avocado spheres. The most famous main dish is “Lomo el tartufo de moliere”: a cut of truffled steak medallions served over tartufo risotto and crispy parmesan. All are included on the Medellin Gourmet menu for 155.000 COP.

One of Barraco’s greatest assets is its attentive and knowledgeable staff. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with warmth and hospitality. The attentive staff is dedicated to providing excellent service by ensuring that every guest leaves pleased and with a smile. The staff offers guided tours of the restaurant, providing insights into the significance of each section and the Baroque artworks on display. Additionally, the staff is always ready to address any questions or requests, ensuring that every aspect of the visit exceeds expectations.

“The service is magnificent, the food tastes magnificent, not to mention the space. A place I am sure I will return to,” Federico Roldán, a guest at Barroco, said.

Barroco features an impressive art gallery that adds a very special element to the restaurant. It highlights the history behind the detailed artworks of this time. The gallery is a thoughtful touch that invites customers to explore the fusion of art and history, offering depth and cultural enrichment to the meal.

“Excellent space to enjoy a special evening, the setting for those who know the history and for those who don’t is simply spectacular and captivating,” Roldán said.

While Barroco excels in many aspects, it’s not exempt from occasional setbacks. At times, the restaurant gets crowded, especially during peak hours, like Friday nights, leading to longer wait times. Additionally, some guests may find the prices on the higher side. Moreover, Barroco doesn’t draw the attention of people going past, as it has a simple exterior; therefore, most people get to know them because of social media or events such as Medellin Gourmet.

Without a doubt, Barroco is a must-visit for anyone searching for a unique and memorable gastronomic experience. From its stunning ambiance to its appetizing cuisine and impeccable service, Barroco offers something truly special. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy an extraordinary journey through the Baroque era at this exceptional restaurant.

“Barroco isn’t just a place to enjoy a meal; it is also a journey through history, art, and gastronomy,” Kayla said.
