Crisis in Special Crisis Committee

Committee’s Existence Revealed, Leaders Question What To Do

On Monday, April 3rd, the Special Crisis Committee started a debate on the crisis involving the the unanticipated revelation of its existence to the public by France’s President Francois Hollande.

The session begun with the delegates’ introductions and their importance to the committee. Donald Trump declared that he marks the stage of a new era and was ready to represent the United States and not the entire world. His introduction is followed with criticisms towards the United Nations’ inefficiency. Theresa May emphasizes her approval of this new era and the significance of free markets and a competitive economy.

Delegates who are entrepreneurs and billionaires, such as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk, highlight their willingness to help through innovations and donations of wealth.

Other delegates criticized the representatives of their rival nations, such as Kim Jong Un’s disapproval towards Trump’s ideals and policies while Putin condemned the West’s “greed”.

“There’s two ways to quench the West’s thirst: to give them water or shut their mouths,” Vladimir Putin exclaimed when stating his opinions about the committee.

An informal debate followed discussing the appropriate response to the committee’s divulgation: either reveal the committee’s information and policies completely to the public, manipulate the media and release what is “safe” to the common people, or attempt further means to keep it secret.

Delegates such as Kim Jong Un are against exposing the Special Crisis Committee, with the accusation that Western powers want to create disorder in North Korea.

Trump and Janet Yellen wished to put forward a press release that reveals the participation and information of the Committee.

“Our solution is the first step into a more trustful world….The committee is lying to the American people, the Russian People,”  US President Donald Trump said.

Similar solutions were provided, specifically by Antonio Gutierrez and Christine Lagarde who wanted to divulge the truth to the public, or Pope Francis and Larry Page, who only wanted to reveal the members.

However, the successful resolution, suggested by Bill Gates, Michael Zuckerberg, Tim Cook, among others, offered a press release that gave the public information about the committee’s existence, as long as the information was regulated by the members of the committee themselves. The majority of the committee voted in favor of this solution.
