This is a picture of the coal mine in La Guajira named Cerrejon. This is causing a very big environmental problem because they use a lot of water and they claim that it’s water from the rain but they are taking the water from a very important river that feeds the indigenous communities, and they are contaminating the river. In my opinion they should use salt water because they have that resource and they don’t need potable water. They should put themselves in the shows of the people in need, and help them. They are not only  affecting the people, they are affecting nature. This used to be a place full of trees and natural species of animals but over time they were forced to leave their habitats. Using salt water would leave the river water for the people and natural systems
