Amidst the excitement of the CISA tournament, our school’s band concert illuminated the campus with a unique display of artistry and talent, showcasing the power of unity between music and sports.

As athletes gave their all in their games, the thrilling performances of our school band captivated audiences, reinforcing how passion transcends boundaries, and enriching our school environment.

“I believe that merging these styles of music with sports is very interesting for both visitors and spectators because you get a more dynamic environment since students not only get to see the sports, but they also get to hear what I would consider to be good music.” Matias Arismendi, grade 11 student who performed in the concert as the drummer, said.

The success of the band concert mirrored the dedication and hard work seen on the soccer field, as the musicians who performed spent hours rehearsing and preparing to share good music with the audience, thus echoing the commitment of student-athletes.

“I was inspired to participate in the CISA music festival because my friends and I had been working tirelessly in band class to deliver an outstanding performance for both ourselves and the audience. This opportunity allowed me to witness firsthand the powerful connection between music and sports, creating an exhilarating experience that unites people.” Alina Restrepo, grade 9 student who performed as the singer, said.

With the intense competition going on simultaneously, the band promoted unity, as it brought together students, parents, and faculty in celebration of both athletic and artistic skills.

“As I was helping coordinate the daily logistics, I could see how many athletes were nervous and stressed out about their games, yet when they started seeing TCS students preform, there was a certain tranquility and peace that filled the air. This concert brought culture and art closer together and nurtured our community.” Santiago Lopez, student leader of the logistics of CISA said.

Throughout the concert, the connection and positive energy between sports and music vibrated, the balance between spectators cheering on athletes on the field while dancing and smiling at the contagious vibes and beats of the band’s performances. Moreover, the amazing vibes of the aftermath of the concert inspired students to embrace their passions and pursue excellence on and off the field.

“I am a drummer, I really like to play the drums, and I also very much enjoy music,” Arismendi said.

With the final chords reverberating across campus, students, faculty, and visitors emerged with a renewed sense of school pride for the arts, as a community, we all appreciated the diverse talents that live within TCS.

“We cannot allow the human experience to get lost in translation, and this amazing experience proved to do exactly that. It not only connected people with a common purpose, but it united human hearts with positive vibes, school spirit, and hope,” said Santiago López.
