MUN Club Receives Sponsorship
ASOPAF, the parents association of The Columbus School, has agreed to sponsor the TCS MUN Club to help students participate in debates and improve their leadership skills this year.
The financial support will be used to help the students go to more MUN’s at other institutions because they are receiving an important discount. The school and ASOPAF are looking forward to the growth of this practice as well as the leadership abilities of the students, which have the correct tools.
“These sponsorships are a true reason to help students grow personally and academically, because not only they are receiving a financial benefit, or having great opportunities like discounts in MUN’s and a custom speaking workshop, but they are acquiring useful abilities for life,” Gregorio Noreña, TCS MUN Club Vice-president, said.
The leaders involved in this change are fully determined to motivate and help other students to progress and improve in a skillset full of guidance and authority that will make them better learners, delegates, and at last, better human beings.
“Most importantly, our goal is to help families and students, because even though most will not think it through, improving our academic standards and learners will lead to a better school and a much greater future for the students,” Patricia Sucerquia, ASOPAF Director, said.
Sucerquia is sure that if talent and knowledge are more fostered at school, all of the students can develop capacities able to take them to generate important changes, not only in MUN’s, but also as social leaders and true drivers of change.
“It’s a super good idea, kids will end up spending less money which will boost towards new students into entering MUN’s and motivating themselves to learn more topics that are beneficial for their future,” Kaylan Doyle, COSMUN Sponsor, said.
Due to the financial sponsorship given to the students by ASOPAF to participate in Models of United Nations, it is previewed that the leadership system in the school is going to change drastically, improving qualities of students.
“Participating in MUN is truly beneficial, many of the leaders that have graduated from school now have important charges that from now to the future, I’m sure will help to improve not only their lives but also the lives of many more,” Noreña said.
