The Hero5 may not offer everything its new versions can but it does not hang back. The battery life in the hero5 is capable of recording continuously for 1 hour 47 minutes while the Hero7 can only withstand 1 hour and 25 minutes more than 20 minutes less than the older version.

With a price as big as $399 the Hero7 is not as different as its successor. They both come with a powerful touch screen and top of the line voice controls as well as a 32GB micro USB which is not different in both cameras. They both even look almost the same and the 62 x 45 x 33 mm dimensions have not changed at all.

All GoPros offer useful accessories such as poles or a massive catalogue of mounts so you can install your camera anywhere, from a helmet to your dog. It also offers a free application called Quik. In it you can download your videos from your camera wireless, edit them, delete them and even share your videos in an instagram-like platform in the app. The same app can easily be downloaded on desktop to edit much faster.

The Hero5 is an incredible machines but as everything it is not perfect. Thanks to it big touchscreen which covers all the back side of the camera, it feels fragile and delicate. Also when the camera gets wet, the touch features becomes problematic and you can’t access it as well as you would normally. Finally, recording with a camera such as the Hero5 can get messy so it ending up with more videos than expected is normal and with a limited space on the computer or camera users usually find themselves spending time searching and deleting useless videos.

The GoPro Hero5 Black is not the best camera out there for adrenaline-seekers but its a cheap and very useful option even kids or families can use in all sorts of conditions. A simple easy to use camera that can be stored almost anywhere but is capable of taking a memory and bring it to life.
