La Serenissima Venezia: for everyone’s italian desires

As a person who is very demanding with food and restaurant ambiance, I stumbled across this small hidden restaurant in El Poblado called La Serenissima Venezia, which was owned by Juan Manuel Barrientos. They serve Italian food, suitable for everyone’s taste, it’s a great place for a nice quiet dinner.

The food served in the restaurant is more creative than other Italian restaurants. Even though they serve the traditional Margarita and meat pizza, they serve others like one called la preferida del chef which is a creation that includes turkey ham, caramelized onions, and burrata cheese; it is exotic and delicious. Their menu is pretty extensive and they not only serve pizza but they serve pasta, risotto, lasagna, salads, meat, and chicken. Compared to restaurants like Romero the food is very similar but the flavor is different. For example, La Serenissima’s Margarita pizza has tomatoes and basil but Romero’s Margarita has the same two ingredients and dried tomatoes, which ruins the refreshing taste for people who have a  fancy palate.

The prices at il Forno and la Serenissima are different, La Serenissima is more expensive but we can see that the prices are balanced by the quality. At Il Forno, you can get a cheaper meal for a reheated pasta or food with lower quality,  at la Serenissima, you get a more expensive dish with better quality.

This restaurant’s service is pretty good, the waiter greets you at the door and takes you to your table. A Friday night in La Serenissima is full, but the service remains the same and the food takes no longer than usual. The waiters are nice and patient when it comes to deciding what to order, they also like to recommend plates when you are not sure what to order, this means they have a good knowledge of the menu. Compared to another restaurant called Ammazza, the service at La Serenissima is amazing because waiters at Ammazza are not as welcoming or patient as they are here. Also, the service and the food tends to be a little bit slower when the restaurant is full compared to La Serenissima.

The environment at this restaurant is cozy and welcoming due to the fact that it is a restaurant on the smaller side, with yellow warm lights and pretty decorations. A downside to being such a small restaurant is that because they take no reservations, it fills up quick. Not taking any reservations is a problem because you are prone to waiting a while for a table and not getting any parking space because they are limited. Restaurants located somewhere different from la 10 have great parking space and huge restaurants, which is why the size and the lack of parking spots is not only a problem that is a concern only at la Serenissima but to almost in every restaurant located in la 10.

Finally, the presentation here is very simple but at the same time cute and trendy. Their pizzas are served in style but simple wooden boards and their other foods are served in pretty white plates. In less fancy pizza restaurants, pizza is served in the tray that they are cooked in and presentation is not something they really care about.

I will give this restaurant a 4 out of five stars because in my opinion, it is an amazing restaurant with great and delicious food yet the location and space are not the best.
