Avengers Endgame Vs. Infinity War

Heroes… what comes to mind with this word? Perhaps DC, or Marvel, Superman, Iron man. To me what comes to mind is the films of Marvel. But specifically Avengers Infinity War and Endgame. In this movies all of the heroes are united to fight against the mad tyrant Thanos whose desire is to wipe half of the universe organisms since there is overpopulation and scarcity of resources. The mission of the mighty heroes is to defend not earth nor the galaxy but rather the whole universe.

I believe that both films are incredibly good, and they both excel in some categories. But since Infinity War isn’t like your normal movie, the heroes win and a happy ending film it creates a different connection between viewer and story.

In this film there are many characters, some are: Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, etc… All this characters have really important roles in the film. But what makes this film different is the amount of character development there is. For example after Thor lost both his parents and his home he was a broken man but after seeing how Thanos killed his brother he was so angry that he went and got Stormbreaker which he uses to fight against Thanos and avenge his family. But in Avengers Endgame there isn’t much character development, basically Bruce Banner solves his problems with Hulk and becomes Dr. Hulk which has the strength of hulk and the brains of banner. This is one of the characteristics that make this movie so good. Having the viewer go through the problems the heroes are having creates a more deep relationship between the viewer and character. This also makes the story move forward.

Infinity War excels in this category. The amount of fight time in the movie is almost overwhelming. They go from fighting in space to fighting in New York, then in Titan (The moon on Saturn), and finally on Wakanda. Not only did they do a good job by putting lots of fights but also the cinematic on the fights are amazing. The amount of work put into this scenes is immense. When the heroes fight Thanos on Titan they have to join forces to stand a chance against the mad tyrant. On the other hand Endgame has one big fight at the end and the rest of the movie is time travel and talking. But this final fight is probably the best out of all the other fights in the other films only second to the fight against Thanos in Wakanda on Infinity War. In this scene once all the stones were used by Hulk to bring back everyone the viewer feels something that can’t be described. When all the wormholes start to appear and all of our favorite heroes come back to fight it creates so much joy and a desire to kill Thanos, but on Infinity War when the last heroes were fighting against Thanos the viewer was left with sadness and we couldn’t understand what was going to happen. We really did feel like we had lost. This is really powerful because throughout history the heroes have always won but now we see that we lost and it makes us feel fear and that’s why this film was so different than most and so much more powerful too.

The storyline in Infinity War is really good, we go through the whole galaxy seeing how our heroes are trying to solve their problems and fight Thanos. While Infinity War was great Endgames story is much more mediocre. In Endgame the characters travel back to old films we had already seen and then come back to fight Thanos. Most of this films have a whole world of ideas and events that unfold but since Infinity War we already knew what was going to happen in Endgame. The storyline is the body and spirit of a film. When we are talking about Infinity War that’s where storyline is both good and well implemented. A good storyline must have a problem a resolution and “filling moments” this filling moments is where all the character development and talking takes place it is necessary and essential so the viewers understand the story.
