Seniors across the school are leaving their mark by leading clubs and teams, showing how dedication and teamwork can create a final personal and community impact before graduation.
As the Class of 2025 prepares to graduate, many seniors reflect on their involvement in school clubs and teams, highlighting the lessons learned, relations formed, and legacies they hope to leave behind.
“Well, personally, as an athlete, I would like to leave a mark, as well as my other teammates. I hope we can impact the school as we have won a lot of tournaments,” Tomas Arrubla, senior, said.
Athletic seniors emphasize the value of resilience and dedication, both on and off the field. They appreciate the values team sports provide and will continue to help them in their lives.
“My coaches have taught me resilience, and my teammates have become part of my family,” Arrubla said.
In robotics, students are building not just machines, but also future skills in engineering and leadership. Future live obstacles will be much easier handled using the skills learned in their time in robotics.
“I’ve gone through the whole scale of being a member, then a leader, and now the team leader. It’s a great opportunity to grow in STEM,” Emilia Quintero, senior, said.
Honor societies encourage seniors to view service as both a responsibility and a privilege. Having such responsibilities in order to maintain their spot in the group are things that will last forever in their upcoming life stages.
“I want to change the attitude toward helping others, seeing it not as a sacrifice but as a privilege,” Camila Gutierrez, senior, said.
Balancing academics, extracurriculars, and personal activities is often challenging, but seniors take pride in navigating it. There are few things that can be more important than pride and the satisfaction of being able to reach such a level of prestige and importance in school.
“Definitely a challenge, having to give up some things for my personal life, but it’s made me grow as a person,” Gutierrez said.
Looking ahead, seniors hope to inspire future students to embrace these opportunities for growth. Groups, teams, and clubs are such an important part of school that students have the chance to do something for the school, representing it against other schools. This contributes to leaving a mark in one of the best stages for most students.
“We’re all friends, helping each other grow. That’s the legacy I want to leave, ”Quintero said.
