From personalized image creation to outstanding writing aid, artificial intelligence is revolutionizing education at TCS, triggering excitement and important questions among students, parents, and teachers.
As AI continues evolving, its presence in schools experiences a sudden transformation. From innovation to necessity, tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity became some of the world’s most advanced learning platforms.
By shaping how students learn complex concepts, practice critical thinking and teachers structure their lessons, there is no doubt as to AI’s role as a powerful tool in TCS.
Yet AI raises questions about personal development and the quality of learning. Amongst our community, AI’s approach to education is one of its most well-known benefits.
“It’s better to use it. It can be a tool for making informed decisions. I think it would help my son gain more knowledge,” Jorge Navarro, TCS parent, said.
For parents, AI platforms are more than just homework helpers. They allow students to innovate and attempt problem-solving on their own.
“It’s not just about ethics, but about how it is always important to get access to good information quickly in order to make the wisest decision,” Navarro claims.
However, he is well aware of the excess reliance on AI and its related dangers resultant in the loss of everyday skills.
“It’s very important to have a relationship between students and teachers. To communicate face-to-face. With AI, I think I have to let him [his son Tomas Navarro] make the decision hoping he uses it in a good manner,” Navarro shared.
Balancing the advantages of AI while ensuring responsible usage is an ongoing conversation in the TCS community. For some students, managing the use of this platform is essential in their academic lives.
“I believe AI has improved a lot of aspects of my learning experience. Now it’s really easy to find information and research has been facilitated. I only use AI work as a sample or framework. Think of it as this additional help,” David Puerta, 10th grader, said.
As TCS adapts to these technological changes, the collaboration between all parts continues to pose a challenge in the educational environment.
“At last, you’re the one who makes the decisions in your life and in the work you have. It’s a really useful tool, but it’s really concerning because it can replace a lot of different things we humans should do,” Puerta added.
AI is defying the boundaries of the school’s education, but true power lies in the usage and responsibility humans give to this tool.
“The world is changing a lot, we must be well prepared in technology, but it’s more important to be prepared in the knowledge of what you learn and want, of preserving the goal of being a good person,” Navarro said.
