School Vaping Terrifying Reality

“Some students have become so dependent of vaping that require smoking very frequently and it’s a problem since as time goes by its affecting health ” As soon as these words left the counselor’s mouth, some 11th graders started to get nervous at the conference hosted by the school. Some students were scared since they practice frequently this activity but even though they know the health impacts, they still consume. Vaping, its commonly seen these days, since its a trending object that includes a high percentage of nicotine that makes it so addictive. Most importantly, this object is seen as a trend so it’s commonly used by teenagers.

Consuming drugs is an easy transition, but what is really difficult is quitting them. Almost always, individuals are aware of the substance they are consuming but they don’t realize how hard will it be quit. Many of the students are facing this transition and school has provided a conference to inform and guide the scholar’s lifes to a right path. But also vaping comes with a lot of choice: you have the choice to not consume or to consume and endanger your body.

It’s a comparison of drugs categories , if I told you ´would you like to be an heroin addict?’ you will respond `how would you dare, heroin?´. Okay so if I told you `cocain´ you will also respond in a negative way. But if we scale down and get to nicotine it is more acceptable to society.”  Ana Garcia, the counselor, said.

Vaping is an attraction to teenagers since its a tendency and have many features that are tempting. The vapes are visually attractive and are designed to catch public’s attention, also they contain intelligent technology. To add on, the vapers include different flavours that are appetizing for community.

“The first electronic cigarette was launched in 2003 and over time they have evolved and have become so technological…the flavours are not like vanilla and black berries. They are like creme brulee, this is  to catch the public’s attention” Garcia, said.

Undergraduates want to keep up with the current, so they inform their peers of the new income products. Some of the students don’t feel attracted to the product but since it is often seen in social events, they are tempted to try it. These smoking-like products are demanding for individuals become for many users, once you try it you can’t stop.

It’s because of three reasons; first of all some students push others to do it, second of all they feel like trying new things. But when they try and get attracted to the product they often get addicted because of the nicotineSofia Vasquez, 11th grade student, said.

Once you try vaping you consider to deplete or to abstain the product. The ones that become so addicted to this substance often require spaces to inhale the product. As a student there have been cases where anxiety is shown in other students. Many of students start behaving in a certain way that need to fulfill their need.

Some students do it for fun ,some students are so addicted that it requires them to vape at school” anonymous source, said.

Even though students are aware of the health impacts that smoking causes, they don’t care since the substance is so addictive. The health risks are many and mostly in the respiratory system. The conference hosted by the school informed students of the health risks and futuristic damages in the human system.

The vapes have been showing nicotine that has an effect on lungs, causing lung cancer, a frequent use of toxins that are inhaled harming the respiratory system. Also, an impact and modifications in DNA  are shown, they did studies on rats but it’s not as developed. To add on,colorants and flavours are proven that have an effect on health” Garcia, said

Students are vaping since its a current and they prefer to be on trend instead of harming their health. It is very common since many have purchased and because its seen in many social events that students host. Being so addicted to the substance is demanding because of the many times they require to use the product, but at the end of the day it is up to the person to endanger their health.

“Nicotine to society is so `normal´ at the times that is like we are drinking Coca Cola” Garcia, said.
