TCS´ Privacy Policies Getting Filtered

During the past years, TCS has been experimenting a high number of problems regarding  privacy issues. TCS´ directives are willing to figure out solutions as soon as possible.

After having lots of problems involving privacy policies, TCS decided to take action and put an end to these issues that are disturbing the school’s environment. Many cases have been reported recently and members of the community think they’ve had enough.

“Problems that involve privacy policies are constantly arriving to my office and the best way to solve them is by applying the consequences according to the Manual de Convivencia,” explained Vicky Jaramillo, High School´s Vice Principal. Confidential information is constantly being reported and handled by many members of the staff, whether it involves students, parents or even teachers. There are specific protocols that take place in order for staff members to know how to manage these type of cases.

“I have had several problems at home and sometimes here at school. I’ve told the counselors and the next day all of my teachers knew,” said Maria Antonia Aristizabal, 11th grade student. Usually, there are certain members of the community whose job involves handling sensitive information due to the nature of their school´s positions, one example are the counselors or the Vice Principals. Despite the efforts to respect each person’s privacy, many students don’t think this is properly accomplished.

Certain students prefer to keep private matters to themselves because of the way they perceive communication at TCS is badly managed. It has become evident how the levels of discontent keep rising among students, leaving them with doubt about weather sharing personal information or keeping it for themselves. This doesn’t only happens in high school, middle school has also been dealing with severe disciplinary issues in which information got filtered.¨After being falsely accused of consuming drugs, and the information filtered around the school, I lost my entire trust over directives, and with my classmates I have concluded that the school has no organization at all when working with disciplinary issues,¨ stated Tomas Echeverri, TCS´ Junior year student.
