Every year at TCS, students and teachers come together for the Halloween event. Students and faculty can be whomever they want, play games, and gather as a community with school spirit, fostering unity and a memorable experience for everyone involved.
This year’s Halloween event at TCS went beyond costumes and candy; it was a festive celebration which brought the community together with participation from seniors, other students, and staff members. The event offered a chance to interact and enjoy the spooky season, showing how the power of tradition in our school can connect everyone in meaningful ways.
“I think it brings us together a little bit because it’s like a tradition that’s been made by the school for years and years,” Jacobo Moreno, senior, said.
For many seniors, Halloween means a lot. This year left a mark. It was more than a chance to dress up together as a whole grade but instead the first of many goodbyes, having the seniors’ entrance and being remembered by everyone in our school. The key tradition added excitement as they arrived all together with the same costumes, showing their school pride.
“I’m most excited about the senior entrance because I can see my friends in their cars, celebrating, and everyone is having fun,” Samuel Lopez, 11th grader, shared.
The spooky festivities included not only fun and games but also a unique chance for self-expression and connection among students and staff.
“Halloween is a time to express yourself, step out of your comfort zone, and connect with the community in a creative way,” Andrew Shainker, teacher, said.
Many students also participated in a group costume by dressing all together, fostering a sense of unity among students, friends, and classmates while providing an inspiring example for younger students.
“Even though I didn’t love the costume we chose, I appreciated the atmosphere it created for our class…It’s a tradition that unites us,” Moreno said.
Staff members ensured the event’s success by balancing fun with safety, as teachers monitored students to keep the day enjoyable and safe for everybody.
“I was responsible for supervising students, making sure they were behaving and making good decisions,” Shainker said.
Both students and teachers acknowledge that events like these offer important benefits to the TCS community, allowing everyone to bond outside of the classroom and create unforgettable moments.
“Sometimes people need to let loose, have a little fun, and just be kids,” Shainker said.
“I think Halloween brings out the best in everyone, giving us a chance to connect and celebrate together,” Lopez said.
