Water For the Wayuu

The Wayuus, which are indigenous people that live in La Guajira, just don’t know how they can better their lives by this water source which is the Caribbean sea or they don’t take advantage of this privilege. Besides what they have in this ocean, which is water, they have a lot of species like fish and other animals that they can be able to eat. Another way that Wayuus don’t take advantage of  this resource is because they don’t know how to recycle, so they litter garbage that ends up ocean. We can see this when in our cars we would pass by areas where there was just plastic and sometimes we would see that the beach was covered by plastic or garbage, and this would be brought by the sea. Garbage doesn’t only contaminate, but it also kills the fauna and flora. My possible solution to this problem is teach the community an efficient way to clean the ocean, and use water how it should be used, for example canals to get water near to their houses.  Then, they could use a desalinator that cleans water from the ocean so that kids or women don’t have to walk for 2 or 4 hours to get some kind of clean water. Even though the solutions are not easy we can try to accomplish these goals so that Wayuu people can have a better way of living
