La Guajira is a community in Colombia that is suffering big water issues. They have scarcity of water and their natural resources are in danger. Everything you see in this picture is in danger of extinction. Kids are staying home from school to go and collect dirty water for their families. Our solution for this problem as a school was to help two communities in need and bring them food, water, school supplies, and we sent materials so that they could build a classroom for more space so that more kids can be educated. All of the students of 8th grade went to La Guajira and we integrated with the people being helped, we learned about their culture and most importantly we helped. We decided that our trip should be eco friendly so we tried to leave plastic at a minimum, aerosols were not allowed and we never used styrofoam.
