Keep Wayuu Culture Alive

In this picture we can see the way the Wayuu are teaching us how their culture works and their typical dances. While we had this experience we had a small taste of how they live in a typical day. It’s very important for us to learn new cultures so we can help them improve in ways they are comfortable with. It’s very hard for them maintaining their culture when the country they live in is not helping and doing  things to protect them. In La Guajira (Colombia) the Wayuu don’t have food and water this is mainly caused because the Cerrejon mine is taking the water away and creating a drought. The government should give the Wayuus water but they don’t. They are basically killing one of the last indigenous tribes left in Colombia. The indigenous are trying to teach us their culture so we can help them keep it alive. It should be important for people to learn these types of things because we can have a little piece of our country’s diversity.
