Expedition to La Guajira

In The Columbus School in Medellin, Antioquia we had a four day trip to La Guajira to do service work. We wanted to benefit  800 Wayuu children from the Educational institution of the Cabo de la Vela school with kits for a better education. We had the opportunity to meet with the Wayuu and the indigenous Kogi.  We provided them with water for a full year, since in La Guajira there is an extreme water crisis. They do not have drinking water. Everything is well water and it is also salty. We bring them things like canned food, clothes and things that they need in their day to day lives, such as cleaning implements. La Guajira is basically a desert, and there is a lot of poverty, but with kindness and building relationships it is possible to help.
