Here, we can clearly see tons of garbage lying on the ground of the desert. This shows disrespect from the inhabitants and tourists of La Guajira, because this shows that they don’t care about animals, plants, and other nature in La Guajira. This garbage ends up blown by the wind into the sea, and kills a lot of maritime nature and birds. The peninsula already has a ton of economic and social problems, and they are intertwined with environmental problems. There is a lot to learn about this problem in La Guajira. A solution for this problem is to educate the world, from when they are children, telling them that it is wrong to leave garbage on the ground, and that they should put it in the correct garbage can. The infrastructure also needs the government to invest in garbage trucks that take waste to other cities that have recycling facilities.
