Columbus School Alumni Find Success in the World

Over the past 69 years, thousands of Columbus School graduates have gone on to successful careers in many different fields, both here in Colombia and abroad.

The Columbus School has been preparing students to pursue advanced studies in some of the world’s finest universities by teaching not reading, writing and math, but producing graduates who are fluent in both their native Spanish as well as in English.

“I believe The Columbus School did a excellent job preparing me for my future, especially in English. Because of that, I have had excellent jobs in my life including the one that I have right now at The Columbus School which is communications,” Juan Humberto Ramirez, Head of TCS Communications, said.

The Columbus Schools offers different types of professional preparations, but English, according to Juan Humberto, is the best one that opens doors to many education and professional possibilities.  Aside from English, The Columbus School, according to Juan Alberto Diez, offers something truly special that is growth as an individual.

“The Columbus School did an amazing job preparing me for my future giving me some essential qualities. The first one was English, the second was its academic performance and most important one was the way the school made you grow as a person. All these qualities are the foundations of what makes me the successful person I am today,” Juan Alberto Diez, Alumni from The Columbus School, stated.

In Medellin, The Columbus School is most recognized due to its excellence in English.  According to Diego Mora, the prestige of graduating from The Columbus School is useful for its alumni. After graduation, Mora went on to university and is currently the President of Colteantioquia, an importer and exporter of fabrics.

“In one of my job interviews, they asked my from which school I was, and just by saying that I was from The Columbus School, they got much more interested,” Diego Mora, TCS Class of 1978, said.

The Columbus School preparation leads to an almost certain successful future. Aside from the prestige it gives to the student’s academic performance forces students to grow and mature to responsible young adults.

“Being an alumni from The Columbus School means that with its name and academic performance makes failure almost impossible to get,” Mora, said.
