Voraz Restaurant Review

One of the biggest concerns restaurant’s owners deal with daily is having a perfect place for diners to go and enjoy their visit so that the restaurant gets to be recognized throughout the city. Medellín, being the second largest city in Colombia, has many different restaurants and ambiances to make your day a diverse and delicious experience. Voraz is one of the many restaurants in Laureles responsible for giving you the best quality by serving you only the best in terms of food and atmosphere. When you leave it, you will not only be satisfied with your dishes but also with their welcoming and amazing atmosphere

The restaurant located in the heart of the Culinary Street of Laureles astonishes you with a simple yet elegant entrance just right around the corner of other well-known restaurants including La Causa and Patatas a Cielo Abierto. The welcoming is presented by a flight of stairs and a bar when you get to the top. The way everything is placed makes you want to a eat what others are having and take a glance at the booze you can order when you are seated or as you wait for your table. It’s very open, it brings the sun, nature, and rusticity into one place making it a great idea to spend your afternoon and calm your hungriness. It has a dark theme ambiance, with wood, that makes a great contrast when the slide-in roof is taken so the day and night can be both enjoyed with all it has to offer. The way it makes you feel can’t be compared to any other restaurant in Medellín, but only to one situated in Laureles right underneath it called La Causa. La Causa, being underneath has the same characteristics and cardinal points of Voraz making it almost the same experience and entrance; but, what people don’t realize is the precious second floor view Voraz includes overseeing la Avenida Nutibara making it a better experience and breathtaking view that La Causa lacks which gives this specific restaurant a more welcoming and soothing vibe at any given moment of the afternoon and night.

After its grand opening on July 2017, Voraz has shown the many distinctive slogans it has: from suitable for carnivores, to voracious instinct, and the passion for meat, which gives the commensals a clear idea of what they are in for. Including raw meat and fish as entrees to grilled steaks and tartare, Voraz has something to offer for everyone looking for a juicy steak or a delicious source of protein dipped, bathed or even stuffed with fascinating sauces and unbelievable accompaniments. Every entree, main course, secondary course, and even dessert is presented in clean and smooth black or dark plates made from rock and stone, sometimes accompanied by rustic wood in the time it takes for each plate to cook, bake and grill making it worth the wait for those specific platters that take longer. But thanks to the remarkable service, and waiter’s professionalism, every minute there is worth the wait. Other restaurants like Brutal located in la Avenida Poblado, Delirio in la 10, and Casablanca established in Indiana have the same dark and grey theme for the platters and use the same kind of wood or rock for some of their dishes but lack the exquisite and savory tastes every mouthful offers and the well-thought accompaniments each course offers.

When reviewing all the good things this outstanding restaurant offers there’s still one major problem it should resolve if it wants to attract more public: the parking lot. Having zero private parking lots, valet parking, or even having a public and safe parking around the establishment, the only option for anyone bringing their car is to park it in the side of the street or find a public parking miles away making commensals walk long distances for their day out. Even though Medellín has a bigger teen generation than in past years, it still should have a safe parking where adults and even teens should feel comfortable parking and not just leaving it on the streets and hoping there’s some guy they could tip for him to keep your car safe. Many other restaurants that have little to no public and private parking spaces like Romero, Delirio, La Causa, La Abarroteria, Rocoto, Carmen, and El Correo to say the least have Valet outside their door making it easy for everyone to be able to have a wonderful time and be sure their car is safe and sound either with the Valets or in the near parking lots.

After taking into consideration the many different variables a restaurant offers from ambiance, to location, and to the courses it has, I believe that Voraz deserves 5/5 stars making it a must for everyone desiring to have a good steak, enjoyable booze, and an amazing ambiance. This restaurant definitely has it all and even though it lacks good and near parking, it makes everyone that decides to enter have a great meal filled with amazing dishes, good ambiance, nature, a breathtaking view, and rustic designs making it one of the best restaurants in Medellín for an afternoon with friends, to an amazing night with your girlfriend.
