Rainwater Harvesting
Most of us have heard about different water issues around the world. One of them is the fact that we don’t use water properly. We leave the faucet running while we aren’t using it, we take a lot of time to shower, et cetera. Recycling water is an option to save water. People think of this term as reusing wastewater for agriculture and toilet flushing, but it also includes distributing rainwater wisely. Rainwater harvesting is a practice that has been done for a long time. It is used in places like La Guajira, Colombia, by local people. They call the reservoirs jagueyes and they use their water for their daily lives. This is also why in The Columbus School, we have a reservoir that collects the rain and then places it back into a local river.
