Carolina Cossio, a corporate veteran with over 17 years at Familia, has taken over as the new director of the TCS Foundation, bringing fresh perspectives and strong leadership to the role.
With her corporate background and focus on sustainable development, Carolina Cossio aims to reshape the TCS Foundation, enhancing its impact on both the community and students. Her arrival signals significant changes, with the goal of strengthening the connection between the foundation and the school community.
“Carolina has been doing an excellent job as the new Foundation director. She has a broad selection of strategies in terms of leadership and sustainable development for the foundation,” Santiago Lopez, senior, stated.
Cossio’s background in the corporate world is expected to influence the way the foundation operates, with a focus on efficiency, partnerships, and sustainability.
“Carolina’s experience in handling budgets and organizing events at Familia provides her with a skill set that’s very valuable for running a foundation,” Jeronimo Serrano, senior, commented.
Her leadership is expected to foster stronger connections with the broader TCS community, especially students who can play a larger role in the foundation’s projects.
“She has so many ideas of how to reform our TCS Foundation, to give it a new vision, a new life, to make it closer for all the TCS community.” Rafael Martinez, TCS senior, mentioned
Cossio’s corporate background will help the foundation establish new partnerships with private companies, bringing in resources and funds for key projects. By leveraging her professional network, Cossio aims to secure more sponsors for initiatives like “Día de las Cometas,” enhancing the foundation’s impact.
“She will be able to build very successful partnerships with corporations like Medi Piel and Familia, which helped with the Dia De Las Cometas event,” Lopez said.
One of the challenges Cossio may face is adjusting to the slower pace of an educational environment compared to the corporate world. However, by listening to the needs of the community and fostering collaboration, she can navigate these differences effectively.
“One challenge will be adjusting from the corporate sector to an educational environment, which operates a bit differently,” Serrano said.
Cossio’s vision for the foundation includes empowering students and building stronger ties with the community. Her goal is to leave a lasting legacy that aligns the foundation’s mission with TCS’s focus on global citizenship and social responsibility.
“I hope she can transform the foundation to make it what its main purpose is to give us students other options to explore the outside world and help make it a better place,” Martinez said.
