Mundo Verde: Taking on Health and Happiness

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ever since healthy eating and healthy lifestyles have boomed all over the world, restaurants, marketplaces, and many other businesses have opened. Medellin, like many other big cities has followed this trend and people have found business opportunities that follow it.

One of the many restaurants that has opened is Mundo Verde, a restaurant created for your “health and daily happiness”. It is a great place to find light and balanced food like wraps, salads, sandwiches, drinks, and more. The restaurant now has five spots throughout the city, each offering the same products and great quality. Its location in El Tesoro (a commercial park), is one of the most transited, it has a lot of room for many clients. With a home feel, Mundo Verde provides a food based experience and is able to capture a light and healthy feel in their space and dishes.

Mundo Verde is a more casual/everyday restaurant. The environment is very light and it has a home feel. Compared to Milagros, a mexican restaurant, Milagros would be an option for a night dinner, something a little less casual but still casual enough. I would choose Mundo Verde because its environment has a more home feel which I wouldn’t get too tired of too quickly. On the other hand Milagros is not a place to go to too often, it has a lot of lights and decorations that can make you get tired of it too fast even though it is very fun to be at once in a while.

Service can be a deciding factor when choosing to go back to a restaurant or not. If you don’t feel comfortable with the people who are there helping you out then the motivation to go back won’t be as big as if they made you feel welcome and comfortable to be there. While the service is good in Mundo Verde, it can improve. Chef Burger, to compare, has a lot better than service than Mundo Verde.  Everyone who works there is happy, in a good mood, and willing to help you out, and you can feel comfortable. The waiters in Mundo Verde have a more professional and serious look to them. You can find some who are very nice but others who are in a bad mood and are not nice which can affect the way you feel.

I want to compare Mundo Verde’s food and menu to one of the most famous restaurants that we have, Crepes & Waffles. While the food in Mundo Verde is very good the food in Crepes is amazing. Since Mundo Verde focuses on one type of food, the variety is not as big as the one in Crepes but they still have a lot to offer. In terms of price Crepes wins by a lot. The dishes can be a little bit more expensive but the quality/price comparison makes Crepes better. Both restaurants have very good food, they have specialized in what they do best and that makes them both very good. As for the menu Crepes has more variety but focuses on a bigger range of plates. Mundo Verde has a lot of plates but the range of what they are focused on is smaller since they work with lighter and healthier dishes. If I were to choose a menu I would choose Crepes because it has a lot to offer and it is very good but at the same time I would go for Mundo Verde when looking for a healthier option, I think it is one of the most varied in the healthy/light restaurant options that Medellin has to offer.

The overall experience in Mundo Verde is not as exciting as in many other restaurants. To compare, Milagros is fun to be at, the food is excellent, and they play their theme very well. Mundo Verde has a more food based experience where you can be at a nice place and have very good food without being in an overly expensive or decorated restaurant.

Mundo Verde takes on the healthy trend and does this very well. They take on a theme and follow it throughout very clearly. There are many other restaurants with better food but for the healthy/light category they are one of the best. Overall not the most exciting restaurant of them all but they were able to capture a simple and light design in their food and in their location.
