Making Copa Columbus More Competitive

TCS coaches want to make Copa Columbus a more competitive tournament in all sports. They want to bring not only teams from Medellin but the top teams from binationals.

Coaches are planning to make copa a high level tournament that help teams to prepare for binationals. To accomplish the goal of making copa more competitive, TCS is inviting some of the best teams in binationals to come and play. Copa will be from the 4th to the 6th of April.

Some of the coaches agreed that the teams in binationals should come to copa to make the tournament more competitive.

“I would like to see Bolivar, Nueva Granada and the other teams that were on the podium in Binationals this year come and play in Copa Columbus,” said Urbano Mesa H.S PE teacher and boys soccer head coach.

Beside the binationals teams TCS is also inviting teams from Medellin that are teams with good players. Some of the teams that are coming are teams that have already played in the past years.

“The teams that are going to come to the Copa Columbus are practically the ones that have always come from here in the city: San Ignacio, Montessori, Aleman, Alcazares, Jorge Robledo among others,” Mesa said.

Even though the teams that are playing have a good leven and good player the teams from binationals and other clubs will give a better level to the tournament since they have very good players.

“I will like to see some of the top teams in binationals and other clubs like Itagüi, Envigado, Sabaneta and other clubs that have really good players and that are able to make the tournament more competitive.” Said Nicolas Vergara 11th grader and Men’s basketball player.

If copa becomes a more challenging tournament getting the championship will be harder and teams should play better.

I think we can get in the podium because most of the players are seniors and they will play as hard as they can to win.” Said Anibal Betancur Girls volleyball coach and H.S PE teacher.
