K4 students and Seniors, a complete cycle.

Imagine being the center of attention, everyone’s eyes on you, more than 5 feet in the air. The nerves are gradually getting to you, it’s your moment to shine.

It’s a TCS tradition for seniors to carry K4 students while entering the thanksgiving ceremony. Usually, the K4 students are really nervous beforehand considering that they are going to be the center of attention from the whole school. The excitement and the nerves get to them.

“It’s been a tradition for the school to have the seniors carry the K4 students,” Camilo Diez, TCS senior expressed. “We have been waiting since K4 for this day and it’s surreal it’s finally here.¨

On this day, K4 students enjoy most of their day alongside seniors. This represents school unity and a generation that is leaving and one that is just beginning.

“I enjoyed being with the big kids; my favorite part was going out [to the ceremony]¨ Mia Echeverri K4F student at TCS.

“It’s a cycle closing. When we first entered the Columbus school, we went through this experience as K4 students and now that we’re graduating we experience it as seniors- It’s the closing of a circle.”Sofía González TCS senior expressed.

After playing throughout the morning, it was time for the ceremony. The seniors and K4 students assembled outside the Coliseum, nervously waiting for their big entrance.

“It’s their first Thanksgiving at the school and it is our last, the fact that you’re graduating soon hits you hard,” Diez said.

“Before when we entered to the Coliseum it was scary,” Alejandro Zuluaga K4C student mentioned.

Nervous thoughts rushed through every K4 students’ mind. What if I fall? Can I trip? How long is this going to be? They were excitement filled nerves, nevertheless but apart from all the happiness this occasion brings, nerved come along with it.

“ I thought I was going to fall,” Zuluaga confessed when asked about the experience right before entering the ceremony.

Right after the ceremony, the children, as well as the seniors, were delighted on how successful the day had been and how much fun they had during the day.

“I enjoyed everything, I would do everything again” K4C’s student’s Jeronimo Robledo’s response when asked about his experience right after the ceremony.

“You feel so old compared to the K4 students; they have so much ahead of them,” Diez remarked.
