Every day at lunch, students gather on the field to play and watch soccer. The intramural tournament has become a favorite school activity, bringing energy and excitement to the campus. With teams competing and students cheering from the sidelines, the event has fostered a sense of community and school pride. Whether playing or supporting their friends, everyone feels involved in the tournament.
The tournament has had a big impact on school spirit, giving students a chance to compete and have fun. The games are lively, and the crowd cheering makes the experience even better. Many students enjoy the opportunity to play with their friends and take part in friendly competition, making lunchtime a highlight of the school day.
“I think that my favorite part of the intramural so far is that we have had a lot of fun, and we have actually scored goals, and we have a really fun time with all of our friends,” Isabel Jaramillo, senior, said.
Beyond just playing, the tournament has brought the school community together. Many students head to the field during lunch to support their friends and enjoy the atmosphere. The increased participation from spectators has made the tournament feel even more exciting, creating a positive and energetic environment that encourages students to be more engaged with school activities.
“I think that the tournament has impacted the school spirit this year, because there have been a lot more people that go up to the field and watch us play, and that just makes us a lot happier,” Jaramillo said.
Still, the tournament has some challenges. Some players feel that the competition is not fair, especially since there are fewer girls’ teams. This imbalance has made it difficult for some teams to compete at the same level, leading to discussions about how the tournament could be improved in the future.
“The biggest challenge, I think, is that there are only a few girls’ teams, and it’s really easy for the guys to win, so we don’t really have any chance at winning,” Jaramillo said.
Despite this, teams have been working hard to prepare. They have carefully chosen their players and thought about their strategies to improve their chances of winning. Many teams have focused on teamwork, communication, and game plans to give themselves the best opportunity to succeed in the tournament.
“We have prepared. We have thought a lot about what we were going to play with, what players, the best ones, so that we have the best results possible,” Pablo Tobar, senior, said.
The tournament has created a fun and competitive environment while also promoting teamwork and school spirit. As the games continue, students are excited to see what happens next. The energy surrounding the event continues to grow, showing how a simple lunchtime activity can make a big difference in bringing students together.
“I think that it brings everyone to the environment, because everyone goes to the field to watch the games, so it promotes sportsmanship and a lot of positive emotions.” Tobar said.
