New P.E t- shirts might be available by the end of the school year, thanks to the student government’s newest  initiative. 

TCS personero, Pablo Monsalve, included the creation of new P.E t-shirts as one of his main campaign proposals. Now, halfway through the school year, he has convinced the student government of the idea that more comfortable P.E t-shirts should be available, making the inclusion of these t-shirts each day more probable. The project is now at is final stages and the new t-shirts should be available some time soon.

“We already have everything planned and the t-shirts are designed. All that’s left is for us to present the idea to the supplier, superintendent and anybody else who must approve it. However, we believe that the project is very likely to be approved as most people support it and it is completely viable,” said Monsalve.

Monsalve says the main reason behind this initiative is that the school’s current P.E t-shirt’s design  is not appropriate for exercise, as it is designed like a “Polo” shirt with rigid fabric (instead of being a sport t-shirt with comfortable, fresh fabric).  

“Many students say their current t-shirts don’t keep them fresh nor comfortable when doing exercise. It doesn’t make sense for us to have P:E class using polo t.shirts. I asked multiple students about this issue before beginning the project and all of them agreed upon the idea of having new school t-shirts for P.E class,” said Monsalve.

The idea of the new t-shirts is supported not only supported by students, but also by P.E teachers who believe that this would contribute much to the students when performing physical activities during P.E class. P.E teacher Luis Fernando Rodriguez ( “Nando” ), is one of the main supporters of this project.

“ I understand that generating a new ‘uniform’ could be a bit tedious for the school when looking at it from a marketing point of view and when taking into account the school’s corporate image. However, I do believe that adding an alternate P.E t-shirt which is more comfortable for the students is a great idea. I put myself in the student’s shoes and understand that the current P:E t-shirt might be uncomfortable,” said Rodriguez

An important factor of this new plan is that the current P.E t-shirts are not going to be replaced by the new ones; the new shirts would just be an alternative.

“ The new design will only be an alternative for students which would give them the possibility to choose which shirt to use during P.E class. The current t-shirt should remain available as it should be used  for school events not related to sports,” said Monsalve.

“The new t-shirts will be ready by the next school year for sure, maybe even before,” said Monsalve.
