David Murillo, Class of ‘12, participated in the Middle School Career Day on March 21. 

Murillo studied music at Berkley College of Music, and worked with different streaming companies scoring music for shows such as Who Killed Sara (Netflix), Dad Wanted (Netflix), and Pedal to Metal (Netflix).

Murillo taught the students how to compose music for a movie or a video clip and used himself as an example of how his journey in the music industry has seen ups and downs.

“I feel like in Colombia, we don’t have as many options in a field like music, because you talk to people who graduate from music in our feet, for example, and they are either teaching or playing for the Marine Philharmonic or playing at events, whether that is a wedding or Quinciañeras,” Murillo said.
