Greta Van Fleet, an underrated band with a huge opportunity to be successful with their LPs, has the potential and drive to create a new era in the Rock n Roll history.  

At their performance at Coachella 2018, not only their music was genuine 70’s rock with the different tones and transitions from calm to accelerated beats, their poses, their outfit , and interaction with the crowd were original and felt authentic.

70 ‘s rock bands were all about their performance, a great song needed a great performance which engaged people to free their minds. They were able to pull through a great concert, the way they perform their music was very similar to Aerosmith. Joshua has the same feminine aspects and gestures that Steven Tyler has. As well as their interaction, their outfit was similar to the one used at those times.

Dark eyes, leather jackets, bell bottoms, feathers, long hair, and bare feet. The drummer, Danny Wagner, says that “Rock n Roll is not a music genre, it is a lifestyle.” They definitely are not shy, their outfits at the Coachella performance were one of the attention getters alongside with their huge talent.

Their style resembles not only Led Zeppelin’s, but also bands like Aerosmith, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath. Their gestures, haircuts and outfits are very similar to those  at the 70’s. Their music video for “Highway Tune,” has the essence and the spirit to create the perfect and accurate feeling.

Gifted with a magnificent voice, the lead singer of Greta Van Fleet, Joshua Kiszka, is known for his high pitch and singing capabilities in songs such as “Edge of Darkness,” where his voice is exploited in high and relaxed tones. The band is stuck in the past, the traditional electric guitar, the potent drums, and the strong base, are factors that bring you back to those old days.

It is astonishing the way the band reassembles Led Zeppelin, one of the pioneer bands of Rock n Roll. Led Zeppelin’s lead singer, Robert Plant, cites Greta Van Fleet as his favorite young band in March 2018. He continues saying that “they are Led Zeppelin I,” and he also describes Joshua as “a beautiful little singer.” Its is just like if they were reviving the Rock n Roll roots. The band is very similar to Led Zeppelin and can be if not more, just as successful as them.

Sometimes their lyrics can be confusing, this could be a downside for some people, but such as other historic soundtracks just as Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” and Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” they are meaningful and original.

Joshua’s vocals show a unique pitch and vocal range as he reaches both high and low notes. The guitarist ability to play solos is unbelievable now that he has a strong attitude and a huge talent. The drummer is considered one of the best of all the times, his capacity to lead the band and keep the order and beat is great.

In general, Greta Van Fleet is considered  one of the most famous rock n roll bands of the 21st century. They performed in the Elton John’s Academy Award Party, he joined them in the stage to sing one of his songs “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” and the one of their songs “You’re the One.” Honestly, they can be compared to any young band starting to burst.
