“I firmly believe that extracurriculars are a gamechanger when applying to top universities around the world, it has helped me a lot in my development and in the decision-making of my career,” Senior Manuela Salazar said

Serving in leadership roles, organizing events, and collaborating with peers on projects provide hands-on experience in decision-making, conflict resolution, and project management, all of which are essential for success in any career path.
“The participation in different organizations and foundations has helped me enter the university I wanted, collages appreciate a lot the way my essay was written because of all the extracurriculars I had showcasing the dedicated person I am,” Senior Simon Pelaez said.
Internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer work related to students’ fields of study offer invaluable hands-on experience and industry exposure. These opportunities allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings.
“2 years ago I was able to work with a company called Asdesilla, I worked with horses something I liked a lot, I am really impressed with how this internship helped me in my learning ability and in getting into the college I wanted,” Senior Nicolas Fajardo said.
Engaging in research projects, academic competitions, or conferences can enhance students’ analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills. Research experiences foster critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity qualities highly sought after by employers across various industries.
“I would’ve never thought of getting more into conferences, This year I got really engaged in these types of activities, and has helped me a lot in the development of businesses and in getting to my college,” Salazar said.
