Seniors go down memory lane during their last day of school

Memories are worth a lot, especially the last day of school for the seniors at The Columbus School when they are filled with tears and joy.

The TCS seniors are getting each day closer to their graduation day. May 11, 2018, was the last day of actual school for seniors of 2018. Now all that is left before graduation is the Independent Social Project. This is a very emotional day for all seniors, watching what and who they are leaving behind.

“My best memories of school are the crazy things I did and laughing with my friends and having all those crazy stories about what we did in class or to the teachers,” said senior Pablo Cote.

Leaving school means leaving a world you have lived in for fourteen years behind, it means leaving a family and whole stage of your life in the past and hopefully keeping it in your heart.

“ What I am going to miss the most about the school is the safety that is provided to me for so long and the way I felt like home,” said senior Laura Echeverri.

Seniors were disappointed that their last day would not include an assembly and so they thought that it wouldn’t be so memorable little did they know what the moms had planned.

“The last day of school was great because of all the joy we all had as year, the Moms planned a great lunch with music and food and some of the students even brought cake,” said Echeverri.

This was not only a day to reminisce but was also a day to celebrate the amazing journey they were just about to finish.

“My last day of school was a great experience, everyone was talking about the memories and the crazy things we did at school,” Cote.

Thinking of the past makes you think of the future as well and even more when you are about to go to university and start a new part of your life.

“Definitely I am very Excited to expand my horizons and my relationships at university,” said Echeverri.

For some seniors school is just the beginning of their lives as they go out to the world to face reality, ready and prepared for whatever comes.

“I feel like I am ready to start a new stage in my life, I already finished this one and I am ready for what’s next, and so I feel really good about starting university,” said Cote.
