“I felt after the third episode that it became slow, I didn’t see how the series could keep progressing, and I thought that at some point they started to add more things to fill it in,” Grade 11 Santiago Lopez, said.

Technically, “Secuestro del Vuelo 601” stands out with its great quality and intense feeling. They use the tight space of the plane well to make you feel on edge and the camera work shows both the hectic and calm times of the situation. But sometimes things happened that didn’t make sense or didn’t seem real, which can make it harder to stay fully immersed in the story.

“I felt so stressed while watching it, the way the actors expressed the feelings made it feel so real, it was quite intense. It even made me feel for them,” Maria Lujan, high school mom, said.

One good thing about the series is its group of actors, who delivered convincing and authentic performances despite the limitations of the setting. Each character brings a unique perspective to the crisis, which makes things more interesting and real. However, many characters can become overwhelming, lacking focus on certain individuals and their stories.

“I have seen this actor before on other series, and watching them perform well was impressive. I think that more than the actors, the characters showed little development, which made some of them hard to like,” Lujan said.

“Secuestro del Vuelo 601” also explores important social and political topics, touching on terrorism, media manipulation, and the human cost of conflict. While these elements enrich the narrative and add depth to the story, they do occasionally become underdeveloped by the central hijacking plot.

Despite its flaws, “Secuestro del Vuelo 601” remains a compelling film for fans of suspenseful thrillers. Its capturing storyline, strong performances, and interesting themes make it a worthy addition to the Netflix lineup.
