Columbus School has traveled to La Guajira over the past years. The purpose of this trip was to help natives with resources and nature in general. Although La Guajira is a wonderful place, the amounts of trash La Guajira has is alarming. While we were visiting them, the natives told us most of the trash ended up in the desert or the ocean because of the wind. Because of this we went with a travel agency that organized the trash and we put all our trash in plastic bags and threw it away later in Medellín. We also did not use or buy disposable plastics.
