The new shop on Medellin offers the most creative, cool and one of a kind ice cream shop. Starting off for its nice and beautiful store, to the exquisite icecreams.  

Elixor Ice Cream Shop is located on the ‘Via Primavera’, a popular street in El Poblado, Medellin is greatly known for the tourist-friendly environment and the bounteous amount of people who visit its comfy coffee shops and small restaurants the Ice cream shop actually bloomed from a clothing shop beside it. The store owners believed that an ice cream shop would make a great duo with their trendy, but expensive clothing store.  

Percimon is another famous ice cream shop located all around Medellín. I would consider the environment in percimon as boring. Its white and mint green theme makes everything seem so pale and cold. Most of the times people buy their ice cream and take it elsewhere, explaining they don´t enjoy the environment.  On the contrary, in Elixor you can truly relax and appreciate your time there. They have an amazing visually appealing wall of cereals and a giant black French Bulldog, that call attention to anyone who is walking nearby. Additionally, they have tables outside where you can enjoy the fresh climate. If Percimon and Elixor were to be next to each other I would definitely prefer to go to Elixor. Being inside this shop makes you feel cool. From the fact that the ice creams are delicious and their colors exotic to the awesome environment it has.

What makes this ice cream shop distinct from others, is that their specialty is not only ice creams but also cereals. The cereals Elixor sells for you to eat with milk or to top your ice cream which is easily found in Colombia, making the ice cream shop extremely exclusive and unique.     On the other hand, Percimon offers only one flavor and many different toping for that one flavor. The difference is that Percimon´s toppings are basic and not creative, as Elixor´s are. In Percimon they have Icycles but just offer two products. And they don’t have a very big menu to chose from. I would go with the Elixor menu now that they have many other things to offer for the customer. Elixor’s shop allows you to go to the ice cream shop multiple times to mix up different toppings and flavors, you won’t find your self trying the same flavor over and over as it might happen in Percimon.

When you go to Elixor you can choose how you want to mix up your ice cream and the other flavors.  Recess puffs, lucky charms or freshly picked fruits can be added to your ice cream The ice cream bases are famous for their rareness. In Elixor you can find vegan chocolate, coconut, and vanilla. Each flavor is of high intensity, with only one drop of the ice cream touching your pallet you can feel the flavors rush through your mouth.  If you are Someone that likes to feel strong flavor intensity, one thing I can be sure of ist that you will never get to taste one as good such Elixor. They seek to change the game with these flavors and adding in the cereal mixture. I have not found yet something to compare this with.

The ice cream has a gelato base, depending on the flavor the strength of the flavor will vary plenty. Each base is unique and you can make it even better depending on the cereal you chose to mix in.  Percimon sells very similar ice cream but it’s yogurt base. However, they have a bigger line; I would truly go with the flavor and the mixes that they offer well they take it one step further and truly accomplish it at its finest. Not only the regular ice cream but also give some flavors that are something amazing.

If you want to experience something new, something that you will not find somewhere else in Medellin or even Colombia you should give Elixor a chance. Even though they have an expensive menu you won’t regret spending your money on their products.
