Huda Beauty: Resting Boss Face

When people have significant events, for example, weddings, parties, and first communions among others, what they desire most is for their makeup to last all day. Even if they cry, if it rains, if they scratch their eye or do anything that could risk ruining their makeup, they expect it to resist. However, quality makeup requires quality ingredients, which tend to be expensive like the final products themselves, and most people do not want to spend insurmountable amounts of money on makeup.

Overall, people wanting to buy makeup up have two options: drugstore or high-end products. The price difference between both choices is significant. For instance, when exploring setting spray options, drugstore brand Mario Badescu sells theirs for $7.00 while high-end Huda Beauty prices theirs at an absurd $45.48. Although the makeup industry is continuously increasing their market-value, most consumers still prefer the lower-priced merchandise; therefore, it is no surprise that Mario Badescu is the best seller out of the two.

Regardless of the price in which brands sell setting spray, it’s clear that this product revolutionized the makeup industry. Prior to its introduction to the market, makeup was not waterproof. Despite its price, Huda Beauty’s Resting Boss Face setting spray was the first of its kind to help makeup achieve “the ultimate matte and waterproof finish” with a non-aerosol spray.  This product is temperature and sweat-resistant, keeping the skin intact all day. After a test made by Kendall Alfred, comparing Huda’s Resting Boss Face, Urban Decay’s All Nighter, and Morphe’s Continuous Setting Mist, neither Morphe nor Urban Decay could stop eye-shadow from melting at high temperatures. This result is corroborated by a YouTuber who tested this by moving her finger through the same eyeshadow sealed with the different setting sprays. The only eye shadow that did not move was the one sealed with Resting Boss Face. As a result, even if its price is exorbitant compared to other drugstore brands, Huda Beauty’s spray will allow consumers to spend less money retouching their makeup and gets them the perfect look.

On a different note, Resting Boss Face has a strong fragrance, which has caused mixed feelings among the makeup community. Having a refreshing aroma in your face all day may be pleasant; however, believe it or not, fragrances can affect the final result of your makeup. Products with fragrances can cause allergic reactions, making people sneeze, which can cause mascara to spread; most makeup products in the market do not include vigorous odors to avoid all health and quality risks.

Ultimately, having impeccable skin is paramount for gorgeous makeup. Therefore, knowing a product’s ingredients is essential. Huda Beauty’s setting spray is one of the few cosmetics that contain alcohol. Due to the fact that some people’s skin is extremely sensitive, most products try to avoid this component which can dry, irritate, and cause inflammation. Nevertheless, you can avert this result by having precautions and getting to know the products you are using.

Overall, this product will allow for an impeccable long-lasting matte finish. However, using it on a daily basis might cause negative reactions to the skin. This is why I would recommend this to professional makeup artists, having in mind they are the ones that usually need to create looks that last all day. Having this kind of product will make your client trust you and want to come back for every single special event they have, because as I mentioned before, what the customer wants is for their makeup to last, to feel beautiful all day long.
