Mumbuling the words of a random song Antonia Velasquez walks the halls of TCS with a dream ahead of her.

It all started about a year ago, as Velasquez always sang the words to every song until one day she decided there would be more than just singing to herself; something good could come out of her gift. After being scouted and observed she underwent development as a project and has turned into someone who is now know as an artist name Antonia Jones Music, with great recognition, currently working on new songs and more videos to come.

The Beginning…

“I recall that about 2 years ago I took a trip with her to the beach with her and her family, I remember she always had this beautiful voice and she told all of us that she wanted to pursue a career in it that she wanted to make something else of the talent she has,” said Manuela Betancourt, TCS 11th grade student and a close friend of Velasquez.

Antonia expressed how she really wanted to pursue a future in singing and music for her friends who were always super supportive and excited that she was finally going to start doing incredible things with that voice of hers and completing her dream. It became a dream for all.

“It all started when I decided to send some audios of me singing to my parents,” said Velasquez or musically, Jones.

Antonia’s parents were used to hear Antonia sing around the house; it became natural to them to hear Antonia and they knew the talent she had after hearing her singing in the shower, while studying, during road trips and everywhere they went. Their conformity in her just singing for fun came to an end when they received the audios and were stricken with the reality that she was really up to something.

The present

“When we heard audio we immediately knew we had to do something; we began to spread them and eventually they managed to reach out to a music producer who still works with us now,” said Angie, Antonia’s Mom. Antonia’s music producer has been more than just help and strictly a producer, he has been there to support and be there every step of the way, for not only Velasquez, but for the family in this long journey that is just starting.

Velasquez´s music producer is the one that gives her the advice and motivation on what to do, how to do it and what north her musical career is heading towards. As a producer he is there when it’s time to record; he teaches her every detail in the process making Jones feel comfortable and  free to sing in a “chill” environment taking her natural artist, singer-songwriter out of the box.

“It’s been a huge growth. I get inspired with everything around me now, be it good or bad. I immediately find a song that represents what I am feeling or write it down to express it,” added Velasquez.

What is to come?

“In 10 years… I  will hopefully have a couple of albums out. I’d want to see myself as a successful singer with records sold internationally…When I graduate from high school which is not too far away in time, I plan to take an entire year before going to college and dedicating it to music full time. I need my time to find myself musically and see if it works out and were it’ll take me, ” said Velasquez dreamily.

Velasquez would like to pursue her career so she will dedicate a whole year to music and if there are not good results she will definitely would like to go to medical school attending her dream school, UCLA.

When asked about her future and her ultimate she didn’t studder to conclude “World touring and winning a couple of awards on the way while making new experiences every day is may ultimate goal,” said Jones with great hope.
