Like an Outsider

The managing style of teachers in K4 creates a safe environment for students to develop and adapt easier to life changes, as they represent the next generation of the Columbus School Community.

Although some kids are still nervously struggling to get out there and build up on their life skills, the K4 staff team is doing all they can to make sure every kid can go on to K5 with the necessary tools in order to become more independent.

“In K4 we recibe students that come from pre kinder. Some of them think the school is very big and that they can get lost easily, others fear the bus drivers don’t really know where their homes are, and others feel sad and miss a lot their parents. The teachers here in K4, we work with them establishing rules and routines for them to feel safe, more independent, and with a better self control” Stated Beatriz Garcia (K4C) as she was looking out for the students on the playground.

As a member of the K4 staff team, Garcia as well as other teachers is putting heart and soul into these kids who feel like outsiders, but step by step will become the grown ups of our future.

Liliana Villegas the K4E teacher stated. “ In K4 great things happen everyday, everything is so beautiful. It is charming to see the socializing part, how the kids interact, how they play, and how they learn to solve their own problems.”

Its great to see how the teachers dedicate to their students improving not only their learning environment but also their out of class environment.

“In this moment kids are very close to their colleagues that they already know because they are just starting to establish friendship bonds with their classmates that are going to continue with them until 12 grade and some of them all their lives.” Said Villegas.
