Seniors and K4 Students: More Bonding Time Wanted

Thanks to the mutual interest shared between Seniors and K4 students for the Thanksgiving ceremony, it has come to the attention of many Seniors that the school should create more opportunities in which the seniors can interact more with k4 students.

Both 12th graders and the K4 community (teachers and students) have agreed that more special dates such as Christmas and Valentine’s day would make great opportunities to get these groups of students together. Seniors are willing to make time and space to go down to K4 and create art activities for the K4 students which would help teach them about these special dates.

“I really liked the opportunity we had to share this space with these kids during Thanksgiving, and I do think the school should allow us to go down there once in a while and make art crafting activities with the little kids whenever we have special dates, like Christmas or Mother’s day or other important dates. I would be more than happy to share more time with them,” senior Sebastian Arteaga stated.

Not only Seniors, but K4 teachers as well, would like to see more bonding opportunities between these two groups of students.

Liliana Villegas the K4E teacher stated, “The Thanksgiving ceremony was a beautiful experience. It was an opportunity for the little kids to see these Seniors that they look up to and admire so much, and for the Seniors to remember when they were little and how exciting this day was…I would love to see more activities between seniors and K4 students, maybe for Valentine’s day, because they are enriching experiences and it would be a great opportunity to exchange learning.”

Many K4 students had delightful things to say about meeting up with the Seniors and being able to share time with them, some even made it clear that they would be elated to have many other opportunities to spend time with them.

“I had a great time, and the best part was that a big guy carried me on his shoulders.” Nicole Peak, the K4C student stated. She even asked, “When are they coming again?”
