The city where broadways lights shine on the street, a place where you feel small as you walk down the streets: New York City, the city that never sleeps. A place that doesn’t have the best of anything, but the second best for everything.

NYC is a magical place where you think you are dreaming when you are crossing the street. A place that transports you to a different dimension, where you wish you stayed forever. Because of their unique restaurants and attractions and different environment it’s a place that no one should miss.

With an extensive variety of foods NYC differs from many other places because it offers some of the most unique cuisine of the world. Extending from the most simple hot dog on the street  to the exquisite 3 meal course everything is appealing. Compared to places like Medellin, it’s clear how in NYC there is a broader variety of food to attract tourists. Medellin still is a place that is developing tourism therefore developing our restaurant diversity for it to be more alluring to public. NYC is an amazing place to go eat especially because you have thousands of options to choose from. Personally, I’m squeamish with what I eat but when I was walking the streets of NYC and saw street carts every plate that came out seemed appealing. The variety of food that this city offers is extraordinary. Not only because you could find almost every cuisine in the world but also because the city has been keeping up with the trends, so you could find all of the trendy foods like a shop only of cookie dough there.

NYC is a huge city with many places to visit; too many to visit in a single trip there. There are the ones that represent NYCb to the world which are Central Park or Times Square but there are so many places in between that are fascinating. Landmarks like Times Square billboards, lights and stores is what makes it standout from the rest of the world. Compared to Boston, NYC has more tourist ‘have fun’, ‘sight see’ attractions like the Empire State Building; while Boston has more of educational attractions tied to it like the visiting Harvard’s campus. The landmarks that NYC is famous for are one of the most mesmerizing and alluring places I have ever seen. Many people would enjoy to see a city where the landmarks change from one side of the street to the other.

The vibe that the city brings is important because it represents what the city is all about. When one arrives to NYC the atmosphere completely changes. It’s more rushed and active than any other place, being chaotic sometimes. It’s like time never stops and no one sleeps, it makes you feel like everything is at your disposition 24/7. Compared to Miami there’s a completely different environment, it’s still a tourist vibe but more slow and more commercial. The vibe is something that makes NYC standout from many not only Miami. In my opinion NYC was a truly unique vibe that it’s irrefutable that catches everyone’s eye. But sometimes it can become really chaotic and you don’t have the time to appreciate what’s happening right in front your eyes.

Safety is something that everyone should have in mind when going somewhere. In NYC there are parts where it’s safer than other like in any other city. Compared to cities such as Copenhagen where safety is not essentially a problem, because people there have a more old lifestyle, rather than a modern one. In my opinion, this is one negative aspect of NYC. When you are walking down the streets of a sketchy place you feel insecure. Even if you are walking through Times Square you are not exempt of getting mugged. Although some destinations like Bronx aren’t the typical touristy destinations they still have some cool attractions; like the Bronx Zoo or the Yankee Stadium. Just because it’s a zone that’s marked as insecure it doesn’t mean you can’t go and enjoy some of the things that it has to offer.

One thing that stands out about NYC is that it has a lot of ‘layers’ and everyone was a different opinion of it. The layers stands out because everytime you go again to revisit it you discover things that before you didn’t. New York City is a place where dreams do come true, and everyone needs to have in their bucket list.
