New Dell Latitude 7490 Laptops Amaze HS Teachers and Students

Despite the robbery of the earlier model, there might be a silver lining as for the acquisition of the new Dell Latitude 7490 laptops in the HS technology dept.

This past October break, the TCS treasury, in connection with the technology department, purchased the new Latitude 7490 Dell computers. Acclaimed by students for being an improvement over the earlier model, and a source of development for HS tech. Located at room 911-b, reside the new devices that were purchased followed by the robbery that occurred at Buen Comienzo.

“The purchase was almost mandatory, I don’t know if you recall, but at Buen Comienzo we had 10 of our very own laptops stolen from the tech DEPT, unfortunately,” Julian Zuñiga, HS robotics and AP Computer science teacher, said.

Despite the robbery, the new laptops purchased by the school manage the software involved in a technology classroom with ease they are the latest computer in its field,

“This Dell Latitude 7490 is state of the art in technology, they are the newest model, they can handle all the design programs used in my classroom,” Zuñiga said.

Other than their performance in-class, the portability, and weight of the machine enables teachers and students to move their work outside campus to handle their unfinished tasks.

“I take it home to do preparation for classes and making tutorials, It’s lightweight and extremely thin, also portable enough for me to take home, ” Richard Newcomer, 9th-grade technology teacher and HS creative design manager, said.

Furthermore, the improvement in specifications of the device in comparison to the prior model, enables the teachers and the technology department to handle a day-in-use school officials require.

“ They have solid-state drives which are a big update from before, makes them faster, 4 GB of RAM (Random Access Memory) more than the previous model, helping it manage at perfection all the Adobe apps we use,” Zuñiga said.

Although followed by a negative event, teachers and students have benefited from the purchase of the new laptops, and consider their functioning to benefit their tasks at TCS.

“The new Dell computers handle perfectly all the software that I and my students need, it was a fortunate, unfortunate event (laughter), what is true is they certainly get the job done,” Newcomer said.
