Killing the way Downhill

New eruptions from infamous Kilauea volcano have reached the pacific ocean causing the diffusion of hydrochloric acid, with the added danger of the volcano sending lava to the island’s power plant.

Erupting in a permanent basis since 1983, on May 3rd, the volcano started erupting dramatically just hours after a 5.0 quake hit the big Island, placing Hawaii in the state of SOS alert. With lava traveling in stretches of 40 miles per hour, the eruptions have already covered the mountain with 2,000-degree lava orchestrated by the 60 recorded eruptions in current cycle. Obligating the government to enforce a mandatory evacuations from inhabitants in multiple residential subdivisions.

“When we went, we did the tour of the island, it was very beautiful, we got to see all the beaches and it was really beautiful.” Said Esteban Arango a former Hawaii visitor from TCS, “When we went there, I never saw anything that was actually protecting the people in case of an emergency, no contingency plans”

With no clear contingency plan, the Hawaiian authorities have failed to contain the lava from advancing towards the Puna Geothermal Venture Plant, while its supposed to provide geothermal power, the lava has allegedly plugged the wells, authorities fear the creation of hydrogen sulfide (a flammable gas) compromising the rest of the plant.

“Evacuation is necessary, of the whole island. The thing is that we are no seeing action. With previous natural disasters the government was efficient, evacuated citizens, and had plans for minimizing plans and everything.” Said Maria Estrada a New York citizen.

Labeled dynamic and very dangerous, Kilauea has noticeably been increasing its ash production and has created more than two dozen spotted fissures, cracking earth open. Around 40 structures have been destroyed with rivers of molten rock as responsible.

“I’m not an expert but a contingency plan is crucial at this point. We are not seeing the government actually doing something about the imposing problem. Earth is literally cracking and spitting lava.” Said Estrada.

Lava effusion has reportedly been “getting out of hand” according to the cnn report.

“They live in an island with a volcano, I think the nation has been failing to help the state of Hawaii be prepared for any disaster scenario.” Said Estrada.
