Join the press staff this COSMUN 2018

Carolina Arango and Mariana Robles, TCS students and presidents of the press area of COSMUN 2018, invites you all to become a part of the press staff.

Last week the inscriptions for press were opened, so if you are interested don’t wait to inscribe to the area in charge of the social media, the interviews, the reporters and the news.

“I love being in press. People may think that if you do not go to the UN to be a delegate or president; it is not worth getting into anything else. But I think that the press is just as enriching as any other activity. Press is a field that provides a way to learn communication skills that are so important today,” says Carolina Arango, TCS student and president of the press area of COSMUN 2018.

People claim to have a lot of fun in this area of the model UN. This is a key area for COSMUN, acknowledging that people from other schools or communities wouldn’t be aware of this huge event if it wasn’t for press and its vast work field.

“I think the press area of COSMUN is important because when an event that big and that popular within the school occur, we want to make sure that other people are seeing it and hearing about it, ” said Emily Butterworth, 11th and 9th grade English teacher at TCS.

People who are part of the press area will also have benefits at school in form of extra credits or extra grades. The people who are in Golds or Butterworths English journalism class will have assignment benefits by joining.

“Being in English journalism and in the press staff of COSMUN is the perfect correlation because they can use their work for both  this class and COSMUN, ” said Butterworth.
