Intrigue is over; It’s Game Time.

The School’s National Honor Society acceptance letters are out with striking changes that have surprised the entire TCS community.

A much larger quantity of inductees have been selected for the chapter than years past, with a total sum of 39 new sophomore, junior and senior members.

“We were surprised by how many got in, going above and beyond expectations but we feel as if it were coming considering the board’s work on preparing applicants on understanding requirements with resulting great terms,” said Susana Mejia, NHS Vice-President.

The idea of numerous new members acts as a segway of great projection of NHS’ efficiency and ability to give back to the community at a larger scale.

“The benefit is obviously having more volunteers that contribute to programs being carried out with a provision of broad capacities, talents and strengths that can be used in different ways,” Carolina Penagos, NHS President gladly states.

A wider range of acceptance speaks greatly on the group’s inclusion and new selection policies open to multiple honorable qualities; in consideration of the program’s pillars with focus going beyond academics.

“We are a community of leaders, leaders are diverse; that is the sole meaning of a community… In variety we find passion, exactly what we need,” Penagos said.

Not everything can be sugarcoated into positivity and improvement, big groups tend to get out of hand and present more obstacles on handling and management.

“Having such an extensive chapter it will be hard for each member to find the opportunity to fulfill their required service hours,” said Camila Duque, NHS Secretary.

Advisor and board routinary checks on requirements and correct portrayal of the program’s values will ensure the exclusiveness of the society and the level of excellence that it requires.

“The role of the board has become more prominent with initial 17 members to a possible 60 member group if everyone inducts… advisory and all of the board will be very strict with Heroe Camina attendance, completing leadership activities and a correct characterization,” Mejía said.

The exclusiveness of being part of the chapter is not lost with the addition of a new promotion but boosted in value and recognition of honor.

Assured by Tatiana Botero, New Member of NHS, “Discipline and effort are part of the rewarding feeling… I am willing to challenge myself to become a better person, student and leader. Once you are in NHS you have to keep being the honorable student you need to be.”
