ISP Projects a Success

Since all the hard work, and enough preparation, the Seniors Independent Study Project (ISP)  was presented to other TCS students, parents and teachers.

This May 29 and 30, twelve graders showed to the TCS community everything they have been working on for over two weeks. More than 60 projects were displayed on the High School coliseum these two days.

The ISP has been taking place for  a lot years, and has become a Columbus School tradition, this year it’s expectations has been changed.” Daniela Garduño, Senior.

This year, Seniors were expected to create and propose a social change for the company they have based their project on. There was even a new class called ´Innovation for Social Change’ and students were taught on how to cause a social impact with their respective company.

“Our social impact was based on providing a more exact physical manual, to those who are just starting their make-up experience, we explain how to properly have a skin care and a lot of other things beginners have to be aware of. ¨ Valentina Alvarez, 12th grade student.

Some projects were based on topics and companies the seniors were interested on for their careers, some, were convenience since their families may have had some influence on companies where they could’ve worked on their ISP.

“I did my ISP on a animation company, it is something I really enjoy and I am looking forward to begin my studies on this topic on September, my goal was not only to get a good grade on my ISP but also to give an idea the company could take in count to explain people what animation really is.” Elisa Villegas, 12th grade student.

Eleventh graders are already   looking forward to their next year Independent Study Project. They were visiting different projects to have an idea of what they would like to work on next year, and getting some tips and heads up form the seniors.

“I listened to the majority of the ISP, I wanted to have an idea of what I would like to do next year, maybe start getting some contacts and tips form this year seniors. I decided I would like to do it in Maaji swimwear since I want to be a designer,” said Susana Fernandez, 11th graders.
