COSMUN 2018’s Chair Members have been elected.

The 32 Chair Members for COSMUN 2018 have been elected after a competitive election process. Every year new and old members are chosen to lead the model to glory.

The applicants need to go through a process where their knowledge and character are put to the test by the secretariat with the best being selected so they can prove their worth by putting in tens if not hundreds of hours of work with the goal of making COSMUN 2018 the most successful Model UN conference ever.

“You need to sign up, after you sign up you just take a test and after you take the test and after you take the test you have to go to an interview.” Summarised Perez when asked about the election process.

Many have tried to apply and failed because they took it as a joke and though that it would be a walk in the park, every year the competition is getting harder and have a place at this esteemed chair is becoming more prestigious. Nevertheless this thought process is worth the time and effort since it is improving the Models academic level and professionalism.

“In general I tough that there room, expertise and professionalism were very impressive.” Said Butterworth when asked about last year’s presidents.

Although COMMUN 2017 was an exceptional model every year with the changing secretariat changes are being made by adding new and exciting committees and removing ones that were dull or simply left too much to be desired. For example this year the SCC and ECOSOC were removed and INTERPOL, JCC 1, JCC2 and their Crisis Directors were added to the team.

“I am the Crisis DIrector of the JCC which is the Joint Crisis Committee. As last year we got the SCC which is another Crisis committee, this year they elected me to be the director of the two JCCs, JCC 1 and JCC 2 so my job is to manage them, to choose what happens as the topic is WW2 if they send jets, if they send troops, any of this. My job is to say who won or if they lost, I basically play Dungeon Master.” Stated Monsalve when asked about his involvement.

With so much raw talent and so much work being put into COSMUN 2018 the morale is high for another outstanding model and without a doubt COSMAN’s future is bright with the young talent being brought into this community.

“I think that this is going to be a very good COSMUN because of the preparation that is coming before it starts.” Said Agustin Alzate a 9th grader that is just beginning his career in MUN.
