A Close Win in Copa Alcazares

A year-long soccer tournament came to an end last week with the TCS team coming to an astonishing second place, sadly losing the finals but not before giving a fight worthy for the TCS team.

The middle school TCS soccer team led by the middle school coach Luis Fernando Rodriguez, known as Nando by the students, made a great tournament even with some troubles caused by the assistance of the players.

“The players are really dedicated to practice but by the age, they depend too much on their parents’ making it for them hard to go to some games,” middle school coach Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez had to pass through some big challenges with the assistance of the players causing some trouble with the way he placed the players in the field but he managed to place them correctly and get the team to second place and had he was considered to have an excellent final.

“The finals didn’t go our way as the field was dirty and just didn’t result, ”Jeronimo Pelaez, 8th grade TCS student that plays in the team, said.

Pelaez recognized by other players and by Rodriguez as the star of the team went through a hard time trying to assist the games, out of the 16 games played he was only able to attend the semi-finals and the final, but still was able to make 9 goals in those two games.

“The biggest obstacle in the tournament was assistance even though we didn’t lose by lack of players I had to move around the roster a lot,” Rodriguez said.

The TCS middle school soccer team gave their best in the tournaments but everything didn’t go as perfect af it was thought and sadly losing the final.

“The level in the tournament was low the players didn’t have high standards,” Pelaez said.

Some players don’t believe that that the team is as well prepared as it should. They say that the team can be better if the players could be more responsible for their training. And they think that last year the team was better.

“We have very short players and didn’t have such a good team as last year,” Pelaez said.

After a long year, Rodriguez thought that the tournament was a total success with great players and awesome games with a sad final.

“We obtained a second place in the category sub 14 and also second place in sub 12 that was led by Javier Martinez,” Rodriguez said.
