On April 22, 2023, in the stadium Atanasio Girardot the Los Favoritos concert took place. Headlined by multiple artists, those expected to make an appearance were; Arcangel, De La Ghetto, Justin Quiles, Lenny Tavarez, Kapla y Miky, Fainal y Shako, and Brokix, to perform in an incredible event hosted by Elite Group

2 am

At this point, it was 2am and a lot of people were starting to leave the Los Favoritos concert because of how tired they were. Those who remained were literally sleeping. In the stadium. At 2 in the morning in a concert. So obviously the energy in the concert was on the floor, because those who didn’t think of falling asleep were bored out of their minds, their phones were low on battery, and they didn’t have enough money to buy the crazy expensive food they sell at the stadium. At 15 past 2am De La Ghetto finally decided to take the stage. With his first two songs people were animated and got up to cheer and sing, but after that, over half of the stadium sat down. For most of his performance it was like that, only when he brought out the second surprise artist of the night did people actually enjoyed his performance. De La Ghetto brought out Ryan Castro, which not only was a complete surprise to everyone, he had originally been rumored to be going but then debunked because he was supposed to be in Miami, he is also a very big artist in Medellín. After Castro performed, De La Ghetto kept performing until 3am, he had a huge pyrotechnic closure and then he left.

3 am

At this point there was very little time left for the concert and the main artist, Arcangel, who was the reason most people went in the first place, still hadn’t performed. People were outraged. Many thought he wasn’t going to actually show up, but minutes after De La Ghetto’s performance, he did. At 3:05 in the morning the presenter started saying he was going to come out, and when he didn’t people started booing the presenter until at 3:18 Arcangel began his performance. The way the stadium lit up when he started singing was a huge change. Everyone stood up and pulled out their phone to record.

His performance was outstanding, especially for those who are longtime fans it was a journey through his musical career, however those who weren’t that big of fans were also able to enjoy his performance if only it wasn’t at 3 in the morning and everyone was so tired of waiting around and being in the most boring concert in history. If at this point you still somehow had energy you were experiencing an amazingly produced and executed performance. The light show was put on for his entire performance time unlike with the other artists, he had some fire special effects which were awesome and really added to the heat, pun fully intended, of the entire performance.

His tardiness, though, was still an issue for everyone, and people were extremely upset over this, even if at the moment they were enjoying the performance. He did, though, go on to address this at 3:50am, when he was informed that he only had 10 minutes left of stage time and had to wrap up quickly. Surprisingly he was as upset as the audience, he even went on to rant over the production team and how outrageous it is that they would invite him to perform, to then postpone him until the very last minute, so he would have as little stage time as possible. He expressed his unconformity with not being able to complete the performance he had planned and that his duty was with pleasing his audience, not the production team for the concert. He said that if he said, so the concert would go on until 1pm the next day and then cursed out the production team a little more. He continued singing, and they began turning his microphone off, but he kept performing.

4 am

At 4 in the morning the stadium lights were turned on. All of them, as if it was a soccer match, and yet, he kept performing. He was still supported by the light team as they kept on the light show and the pyrotechnics. It was outstanding to see how an artist can hype a crowd up at 4 in the morning with the stadium lights completely on. His microphone kept being turned off, and they were trying to get him to leave the stage, and he refused to do it as long as he could. Eventually, though they had to turn it all off, and he had to leave. When he reluctantly left the stage it was 4:30 am. This meant that he was able to extend the concert 30 minutes past the closing time, which is basically impossible in the performing industry, when you take in consideration the audience’s willingness to stay so late, the extra costs of going overtime in the stadium, and of course the artist themselves being disposed of going over their performance time.

4:30 am (end)

The Los Favoritos concert had the potential to be a great event, with big-name reggaeton artists and an enthusiastic audience. However, the overall experience fell short due to various factors, such as poor seating arrangements, long wait times, and unengaging performances. To improve future concerts, organizers should consider addressing these issues and providing a more seamless and enjoyable experience for concert-goers. With the right changes and improvements, the next Los Favoritos concert could be a huge success.
