La Guajira is a beautiful department in Colombia where a lot of environmental issues are going on. We can see the lack of potable water, sickness, and especially drought which is caused by regional drought and the nearby mine which uses 17 million liters a day. Since the lack of potable water has already been a crisis, imagine the heat that causes all the little ponds and water to dry it. Animals and humans have died of dehydration so communities have been trying to solve this really serious problem. This photo was taken in the parque Ecologico de fauna y flora Los Flamencos represents the serious issue and event. Possible solutions for this environmental problem are such as a rainwater collection system. This is a system that the communities that suffer  from lack of water are using. It is a big container to collect water rain, this helps to gather water

to use in the community and then distribute it whenever they need it.
