La Guajira

Guajira is a beautiful place in the north coast of Colombia. It has a lot of natural resources but is lacking water and food. Cerrejon is a coal mine near Riohacha that uses about 17 million gallons of water per day, meanwhile the rest of Guajira is in need of water. The Wayuus are one of the indigenous tribes in La Guajira and many are suffering and needing a lot of basic things like water. I believe that by reducing the use of water in mining and helping the Guajira use water carefully we can make a great impact. Also, through education we can  help the people in La Guajira learn how to use their resources carefully to develop their communities.
